CopyNight Tomorrow!
It's the fourth Tuesday of the month, and that means it's time for CopyNight. I'll be at the Toronto gathering this month, and I'm happy to announce that we've added Montreal, Quebec and Des Moines, Iowa to the CopyNight constellation. From the website:
"Here are some things you might want to talk about at this month's event:Brings friends, buy drinks, and enjoy the spirited discussion at this month's CopyNight!"
- ~ In the US, notorious IP-cheerleader Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) is being challenged by two candidates who have made his stance on IP a real campaign issue.
- ~ In Canada, legislators are considering a copyright overhaul with broad implications.
- ~ The United States also passed the controversial Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA), which forces signatories to adopt controversial US copyright laws.
