Nevada Fails Diebold E-Voting Machines, Requires Paper Trail
Good outcome, flawed reasoning:
Marc McDermott, chief of the electronic services division of the control board, issued a report after examining both units. He said he believed the Diebold electronic voting machine "represents a legitimate threat to the integrity of the election process." Diebold's software is available on the Internet and that makes it a security risk. They should read Bruce Perens' paper on security through obscurity. At least they're going to require paper trails for the machines.
