DRM and Society

I am not supposed to be blogging until my LSAT is behind me, but I need to remember David Weinberger's new piece DRM in Wired. It touches on some of the topics that I hope to write about this summer once I have a chance to revisit my undergraduate honors thesis. Basically, I want to look at forms of cultural diaspora (Caribbean music, Nortec, subversive cinema in politically oppressive countries) and see how current trends in region coding, tethering, and other DRM will erect social barriers. Back to studying.
